Downs first:
April and the first part of May started off rocky. The majority of it was spent with family during the last days of my Grandpa's life. I really think that sometimes knowing that a family member is about to go to heaven is harder than it just happening suddenly. I am thankful that we were able to celebrate one last birthday with him and that I got to see him again before he passed. I do still feel a strange void now that he's gone. I miss you Grandpa! I thank God that I have such wonderful family and friends to help me through the hard times.Onto the Ups!:
On the brighter side, I hosted my first Weber family gathering on Mother's Day. I cannot believe I actually got my entire family here. Yup, even my father who hates the 'cities' came for the event. Mother's day this year was different for me. Last year, I think I was still caught up in trying to figure the whole being a mother thing out. This year, I realized how much goes into being a Mom. Seriously, my Mom must be a saint! How she did with three kids is amazing. Well, at least I have a good role model :)Also in May, Jereme and I brought Lilly on her first airplane ride. I had a business trip out to Portland, OR, so Jer and LG decided to tag along since we have friends in the area. Lilly did great. I think that we might even take her on another airplane ride someday! The best part was taking Lilly to the ocean for the first time. It was cold, but she loved the sand. I think she ate half the beach and the other half ended up in her diaper. Poor kid musta had sand in her bloomers for a week!
Since the last post, I've been to: Arizona, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oregon, California and Michigan... I think? Needless to say I have been busy traveling! Most of the reasoning is that Jereme has been gone for the past 3 week in Baltimore for work. His turn to travel I guess and payback for me always being on the road! Anyways, I put a bunch of travel in just to make sure I could stay home the whole time he was gone.
While Daddy was away at work, Lilly stopped taking a bottle, sleeps through the night, learned how to growl and how to scootch down the stairs on her butt. Amazing how much can happen in just a few weeks! We've been meaning to get Lilly completely off the bottle for a while, but she just didn't want to use a sippy. Maybe I just didn't want her off the bottle. Regardless, once Daddy left, I just stopped giving it to her. Guess what??? She drank out of the sippy when she got thirsty. It wasn't so bad after all. I think if we have another kid, I'll take em off the bottle right at one or sooner!
What else is new... geez, maybe quarterly is too long to wait to post! Oh, I know...
We've finally settled into our new home. I LOVE it! So much better than living in a townhome, except all the things that come with a house, ie yard work, lol. Yard work aside, we've now fully furnished our place and added a deck. Now time to party on it!
Well, that about covers it. Just ready to have a relaxing summer. Hugs to all...
