I've made it half way, YIPPPEEE! Really it has gone pretty fast, but in thinking about it, most of this half, I was hiding the fact that I was pregnant. Now the real growing begins.
Speaking of growing, I've deemed this week, "Maternity Week." I'm wearing maternity pants for the first time ever today and oh are they comfortable! It's like you're wearing sweatpants. I am not so much a fan of the styles available to me, but what the heck, I only have to do this for another 20 (or less) weeks.
And, this week I get to see my little bugger for the first time! We'll see if Jereme breaks down in the doctor's office and has to find out what it is. For now, we're saying it's going to be a surprise, but decisions changes quickly in our world. I'll post my 20 week and ultrasound pics later on this week.
I figured I'd do a quick recap on my first half of things you learn when pregnant:
1. Prenatal vitamins. I've learned, you gotta take 'em; they get better with time. They still smell.
2. Bathroom breaks are still important, actually even more so than the first trimester. Waking up in the middle of the night is normal now. I've learned to keep a clear path, so not to trip or stub your toe while making your way half asleep.
3. The monster in my closet has not gone away. I've learned, wearing maternity pants is the best way to fight back.
4. Stupid boobs. I've learned, go in and get remeasured... probably not wearing the right size anymore.
5. Ice cream... I still love ice cream. I've learned nothing more than what I already knew. Keep it stocked in the freezer or you'll be sorry.
6. Sleep is still important. At least now, I can stay awake for most of the news. I have learned that not being able to sleep on your stomach is a major pain. I should have enjoyed it more while I could have.
7. Jereme still makes no sense when drinking, nor do other people. I've learned to choose my battles. It's not worth getting worked up over something that the other person doesn't understand. If need be, let 'em sleep in the car instead of waking him up when you get home :)
Adios for now!
A place for me to write about life. I don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks about it.

Just wrong
Ok, this is just weird to me...

Seriously, what in the world would make people think that making ice cream out of breast milk would be a good idea. Yes, yes, I see that it is super great for babies, but adults? Gross... just the thought of eating Cherry Garcia made out of a stranger's milk makes me want to barf.

This morning
As I was styling my hair this morning, Jereme made a comment about how quickly I was growing out. Being that I was doing my hair, I assumed that's what he was talking about. When I responded and said, yeah, I know... I really need to something about it. He looked at me funny and said no, no, I was talking about your tummy. Men! They just don't understand.

Milestones
For the first time this past week, two complete strangers asked if I was expecting. Guess there is no hiding it. Regardless of someone's size I still think that this is a question one should never ask. From now on, I think that I am going to tell them no, just to see the look on their face :) Secretly I was a little excited for this to happen... I just want to be a proud mama!
Another milestone... I felt the baby kick from the outside this weekend. I ran upstairs to Jereme in hopes that he'd finally be able to feel the baby too, but I guess my moving made the kid mad because it stopped as soon as he put his hand on my tummy. Oh well, soon enough he'll be able to feel the kicks all the time!
One of my closest friends tied the knot this weekend. And yes, I was able to squeeze into my dress and everything stayed in place. There wasn't a whole lot of jumping around going on though :) Here's a pic on Kendra and the baby having a little bit of time together. She LOVES to talk to the baby... it will definitely know her voice when it is born!

That time of year
It's that time of year when us ladies become hunting widows. I've got two weekends left until my hubby heads off to woods to shoot (or act like he is going to anyways) whatever animal is in season. Whoo Hoo!!! I can't wait! Get 'em outta the house. I need to make room for this baby, which means throwing away junk. I can never seem to throw out anything without Jereme seriously questioning if we might ever need it's use again. I may not have the perfect nursery set up by the end of hunting season, but at least I will have room for the basic necessities.
Before I can get too carried away with nesting, I need to squeeze myself into one more bridesmaid dress. This one is a doozy. The dress itself is beautiful, however; we may need to put PG 13 warning on the entrance of the church as some may be seeing more than they bargained for. Holy moly cleavage! At least last weekend I had a cardigan to cover the girls up... not so much this time around. Thank goodness the other bridesmaids are also chesty... hopefully that way it will look like we were purposely trying to show off our God given goods. But, as always, I can rely on the fact that eyes will be on our beautiful bride and not my tatas :) I will be sure to post pics!
And... just in case you'd thought I may have lost count... 22 weeks until the baby bell rings :) Almost half way there!

Everything Overfloweth
It's happened ladies... to my girlfriends that couldn't wait for this moment... I have offically outgrown most of my clothes, especially pants and bras. I had the depressing (yet still kinda heartwarming) project of removing my not-so-pregnant clothes from my closet. It is near empty.
On the bright side, that means shopping time for me! On the not so bright side, that means squishing everything into articles of clothing too small for my size until I get a chance to run to the store. I've given myself a whole new outlook on what the term 'muffin top' can mean. Ha! The joys of pregnancy.
I've decided that it is time to stop running... not working out, just running. My work team was making fun of me saying that the baby must think it is in a giant jumpy castle when I run. I don't worry about that so much. I actually think that could be fun, but I do worry about peeing my pants. Oh well, it is getting colder and darker outside anyways, so back to the elliptical I go or at least for as long as I can stand that.
Just a finally funny, when I hug Jereme now, our bellies bump into each other. I'm playing catch up to his. He thinks it is hillarious, kinda depends on the moment for me. I'm trying to teach him that my nickname, Chunk, is no longer amusing. We'll see what he comes up with next.

Back on track
Well, the RNC has finally left town and took most of the weirdos with it. Thank goodness! We only had one evacuation in our office. The police pretty much cleared out all office buildings in downtown... of course, this would happen on the day that I had already scheduled a Dr. appointment and was going to be gone anyways. Just my luck.
Speaking of that appointment... everything is right on track. I've gained 4 pounds from my starting weight. I am fairly positive all four pounds came from last week/weekend. Between traveling and eating out and then the golf tourney I had enough fat/sugar for the next six months.
Heatbeat is at 157 and the Dr. said that my baby moves around a lot, which makes me hope that I will start feeling the little bugger soon! I feel all kinds of things now, but I can't tell what's gas or just my guts being pushed and what the baby would feel like. I am also excited because my Dr. says that I am still in the clear to sleep on my back. Whoo hoo! This side sleeping business wasn't working out too well. Every couple of hours I would wake up on my back anyways. Ultra Sound is scheduled for Oct. 2nd... YEAH!!!

Who's idea was it anyways...
to have the RNC in St. Paul. I mean really, didn't they consider that people actually work downtown? Now I am stuck dealing with idiots this week. Not so much the RNC goers themselves, but the stupid protesters.
We're about 6 blocks away from any barricades, but the morons have drifted to the park outside of my building. Yesterday the broke one of our building windows for no particular reason. Jereme wouldn't let me yell obscenities at them as we drove by, which is probably the smart thing to do, but I just can't help myself from venting.
Ugh... I can't wait until this is over.

Home, gone again, home
Well, I made it back from CA. Not without a few hassels. For some dumb reason I thought that I would book a layover in Denver, during the Democratic National Convention. On the even brighter side, I flew home to Minneapolis the Friday before the Republican National Convention. Holy moly, did I deal with idiots at the airport... and late flights, without time to pee between layovers. Running through the airport with a full blatter, not a good idea. Arrived home to a house full of people, because my husband thought that I would really enjoy having company that night. Then again, in his words, I'll just go to sleep anyways. Revenge will come someday.
Headed out to see my family for the weekend. Had the annual family golf tournament was on Sunday, which is always a blast. Pregnancy hasn't made me a better golfer, but my team did tie for first... not much help from me. At least I provided some amusement with the help of a low cut shirt, a golf cart and some rough terrain. Keeping the girls from slapping me in the face was my biggest challange of the day. And as always, we had a big party afterwards complete with great food and fireworks (of which I did not approve, but my drunk brother and drunk husband insisted on... it was really windy). Made it back home on Monday through stupid Labor Day weekend traffic. Ugh.
Have my 16 week appointment this week. I'll post the update and a pic of my growing belly afterwards. Yeah!!! I am excited to hear the heartbeat again.
