Back to me

I think I finally got through this rut and I am back to regular old me. Hitting that less than one-hundred day point helped. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. Jereme even set up the bassinett yesterday. He wasn't all too sure what it exactly was and why we needed it, but it's in working condition now. We plan on registering this weekend (Target and Babies R Us). That will be a learning experience for dear hubby. He knows nothing about baby goods.

We had our 26 week appointment yesterday. My doctor says I am the text book definition of where a pregnant person should be. Gained another couple of pounds since my last appointment... I still haven't gotten used to the scale increasing every time I step on it. Baby's heartbeat was right around 155, which is average. And, I PASSED my gestational diabetes test, thank God! I don't know what I would have done if I had to control my sugar intake. I am having some small contractions, but nothing to be concerned about; apparently it's normal. The little buggers sure are uncomfortable tho! See the latest pic below. Not sure why my eyes always look like I just got punched, but whatever.

Let me think... what else it new...
Oh, I spent 15 minutes in the ice cream aisle looking for butter brittle ice cream this week. Then left angry when they didn't have it and went to the next grocery store, which also didn't have it. I haven't wanted that kind of ice cream since I was a kid, weird. I seem to want all kinds of foods from my childhood lately. I settled for dulce de leche which is almost as good.

And, I am learning that sneezing is not as easy as it used to be. One should never sneeze with a full bladder. I haven't exploded yet, but I have had close calls. And, don't ever, ever sneeze while lying down. You're likely to pull every stomach muscle you have (what's left of them anyways). Quite painful. Best to roll up in a ball if you've got warning.

Finally, anyone ever concerned that they'll forget to zipper up their pants after they stop wearing maternity pants? I've dreamt about this twice now. I'm getting so used to just pulling up and down that I forget completely about the zipper. If after this baby is born, you see me walking around with my fly down, please, please, tell me!

Ciao for the weekend, more next week!

Look at that little baby bump! You are to darn cute!!! :) Don't worry too much about the braxton hicks, I've been told you pretty much have them most of the pregnancy. It just means your body is practicing for the main event. YAY!! :) Can't wait to see the registry's. I'm also in shock about how little weight you've gained--I've already surpassed the 30 lb mark, so good for you :)

The next days will fly by... Before you know it, little vb will be crawling around getting into all of your pots and pans, every nuk and cranny that he/she is not supposed to be in, and oh yah, biting your toes when you decide to ignore the little pip squeek so you can get ready.... Oh what fun!
